INEOS presents Fusilier, the third 4×4 off-road vehicle after Grenadier and the Quartermaster. Two engines available for this new model: totally electric (BEV) or electric with range extender (with extended autonomy). That is, the electric motor that moves the vehicle remains, but there is also a thermal one that acts as a generator and is powered by a small petrol tank, while the traction battery is about 70% larger than that of the 100% model electric.
This is because, second Sir Jim Ratcliffe president and CEO of INEOS, there is not yet a single solution for all uses. Electric is fine in the city, but when it comes to charging there may be problems or queues at the charging stations. This is why we need to offer a series of different solutions and cater to all customers without forcing consumers to necessarily buy electric.
Ineos Fusilier is an electric Grenadier
The new Fusilier is an electric variant of the Grenadier, based on a dedicated “skateboard” platform combined with a top hat structure, a steel underbody and aluminum doors and closures derived from the Grenadier. The external dimensions are slightly smaller: the height is reduced by about ten centimeters, while the length decreases by about thirty centimeters also due to the absence of the spare wheel hanging from the rear door.
In particular, the length should be of 4.60 m and the length Of 1.90 m. The vehicle can seat up to five people and offer a towing capacity of approx 2,000 kg. Externally, in addition to the restylized grille, you can see that the roof is lower and loses the two small upper windows similar to the Alpine Lights, while the third rear window is also smaller and different than that of the Grenadier. There is no spare wheel on the tailgate which has been redesigned. Interesting i circles with Beadlock which should be 18″, combined with All Terrain tyres.
The body lines have been softened with beveled edges and corners helping to ensure uninterrupted airflow and maintain that unobstructed visibility on the road and terrain. External functional features have been cleverly incorporated into the bodywork for a more stylized appearance. The active grilles to manage airflow at the front of the vehicle based on cooling or range efficiency needs, opening and closing automatically as needed. Let's find i 7″ circular headlights and LED lights front and rear. The Door hinges are now recessed to aid airflow, and the large horizontal front grille features two LED lights, integrated into a new aerodynamic frame.
Ineos Fusilier engines
INEOS Fusilier offers a choice between two electric motors, i.e. a model with a 100% electric motor and a generously sized battery capable of guaranteeing 400 km of autonomy and a version with an electric motor and smaller battery combined with a small generator placed in the bonnet engine for extended autonomy. This variant is able to offer customers very low emission driving without the worry of charging. However, we still don't know if both variants will be paired with one transmission equipped with reduction gear and with the blocking of central differential. The Fusilier, like the Grenadier, should fit the same ones suspensions with springs Carraro rigid axles front and rear, as well as Brembo brakes certainly combined with a regenerative braking system.
As regards off-road driving, the electric Grenadier should count onheight from the ground exceeding 200 mm it's a wading depth close to a meter since there are no air intakes for the electric motor. Different story for the version equipped with range extender which will probably be able to wade through depths of up to 800 mm, like the current Grenadier.
Ineos Fusilier price
The launch of this new electric model is scheduled for 2026while for the version with the range extender will have to wait until 2027. It is currently still under development with the specialist Great and it cannot be ordered. It will also be subjected to a rigorous testing program on Mount Schöckl, in Austria, on whose slopes the Magna factories are located. We can imagine that prices will be around 80-90,000 euros for the fully electric version and almost 100 thousand euros for the one with range extender. The range of accessories should be similar to that already seen on the Grenadier.
For example, the roof rack can be mounted to further increase the load capacity and a varied range of supports which allow you to carry external accessories such as sand plates, shovels and bags.
