The first fully electric model from the British brand is called Ineos Fusilier, which thus expands the brand's range, positioning itself below Grenadier and Quartermaster. The new compact model on tap was revealed as a preview by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder of Ineos, who also provided the first details on this model and its positioning.
The first electric for Ineos
“The Fusilier is a great looking vehicle and the two powertrain choices ensure a real reduction in CO2 emissions without compromising off-road capabilities and on-road performance – explained the number one of Ineos – We are excited to bring an electric 4X4 to market but are starting to identify the clear limitations of a battery electric in some situations. We believe that adding a range-extended electric variant to our line-up will offer customers very low-emission driving without the range anxiety that EV drivers experience today.”
Still little technical data on the Ineos Fusilier
There are several elements that underline the family feeling, especially with Grenadier, such as the bumper and the true off-road look. Ineos Fusilier will be offered with two powertrain options, one 100% electric and one equipped with Range Extender although no official data regarding the technical specifications have yet been provided. The only details concern the platform, a skateboard architecture combined with a top hat structure, a steel underbody and aluminum doors. Fusilier will be produced together with Magna Steyr, in the latter's plant in Graz, Austria, thus continuing the collaboration between the two brands which has also seen joint work on the Grenadier Station Wagon and the Quartermaster pick-up.
