India does not plan to send high-level officials to the Ukraine summit
India has no plans to send high-level officials to the summit on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16. This is reported by The Hindustan Times with reference to sources.
“New Delhi will not be represented by senior leaders, including the prime minister or foreign minister,” the material said.
As the publication notes, India’s participation in the conference in Switzerland will be at the same level as the four previous meetings on the Ukrainian issue, held in Copenhagen, Jeddah, Malta and Davos since 2022. At most of these summits, the country was represented by the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Deputy National Security Adviser.
It is also clarified that although National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended the meeting in Jeddah in August 2023, he is unlikely to travel to Switzerland.
Earlier it became known that Australia will be represented at the Ukraine summit by the Minister of Disability Insurance Bill Shorten. The Australian Foreign Ministry defended the decision to send the minister to a conference in Switzerland, despite Kyiv’s insistent demands to invite the prime minister or his deputy to it.
