In Ukraine, the work of the Shebelinsky oil refinery (refinery) was stopped. As transmits TASS citing a statement by Naftogaz Ukrainy, this decision was made for security reasons.
It is noted that after the shutdown of the plant, personnel were evacuated. Work at the facility, located in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, is planned to be resumed after the stabilization of the situation, Naftogaz of Ukraine noted.
The Shebelinsky Oil Refinery has been operating since 1960. It is one of two currently operating oil refineries in Ukraine and the main asset of the state-owned Ukrgasdobycha. In 2020, the total processing volume amounted to over 440 thousand tons of raw materials. More than 90 percent of the raw materials entering processing are our own production. The volume of output of finished products for consumers amounted to: 140 thousand tons of gasoline, 75 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 144 tons of liquefied gas.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in the Donbass amid reports of a worsening situation in the region and the appeal of the authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to Russia for help.
