The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has revealed a scheme of illegal transfer of conscripts abroad under the guise of volunteers and students on forged documents. This was announced on October 19 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.
“According to the investigation, during martial law, a group of people organized a scheme for the unhindered crossing of the state border by citizens of military age. For $4,500-5,500, they produced fictitious documents that allowed conscripts to cross the border under the guise of a student or volunteer,” the report says.
The office of the Prosecutor General also reported that at the moment four citizens of Ukraine, one of them in absentia, have been informed of suspicion of illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine (part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). With regard to the detainees, a preventive measure was chosen – detention.
Earlier, on October 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree stating that the autumn draft campaign in 2022 will not be held in Ukraine. In addition, he postponed the transfer to the reserve of the military for a period “not earlier than the announcement of demobilization in the prescribed manner.”
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Putin announced on February 24, continues. The decision to hold it was made due to the aggravation of the situation in the region amid shelling by the Ukrainian military.
