CNN: White House argues with Blinken over conflict with Russia
United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken is arguing with White House advisers who fear an escalation of the conflict with the Russian Federation. This was stated by Malcolm Davis, an analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, in an interview CNN.
“There is a group within the Biden administration that is concerned about the prospect of an escalation of the conflict (with Russia). The Secretary of State is trying to speak out against those fears,” Davis said.
At the same time, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is as reserved as President Biden, Davis added. According to the analyst, the internal conflict in Washington does not allow Kyiv to obtain permission to strike Russian territory with American weapons.
Earlier, a veteran of the US Armed Forces said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and other American politicians want a big war. The world is closer than ever to nuclear war, the expert believes. However, according to him, most American politicians do not understand this.
Last week, The New York Times wrote that the State Department approved the idea of strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) on Russian territory. Blinken took a similar initiative.
