The source added that the Russian train deal comes within Cairo’s plan to develop the transportation system, and represents a major qualitative leap in the level of service provided to Egyptians, and Cairo tested the model cars that met the Egyptian specifications and conditions.

Despite the Ukrainian war, the sources confirmed that it has no effect on the schedule of supplying the Russian wagon deal to Egypt, and that the delivery of train payments takes place according to the agreed schedule.
About 478 vehicles with dynamic ventilation were supplied out of a total of 500, and the last batch is under way, out of the total deal of 1,300 new vehicles.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the signing ceremony of the contract, stressing that “the new electric rail network comes as a consolidation of fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the field of infrastructure, and will represent a great addition to the transportation system, marking the beginning of a new era for railways in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.”
The Egyptian Ministry of Transport said that the new high-speed electric train system will include 3 lines, with a length of about 2,000 km across the country.
