White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said at a press conference that Biden asked his team to consider other options for dealing with the Iranian nuclear file, in case diplomacy fails.
“Based on the outcomes of the recent nuclear talks and Iran’s progress in its nuclear program, we are preparing for a path other than that of diplomacy,” Psaki said.
Psaki spoke of “possible sanctions” that will be imposed on Iran, which the US government will study in the coming period.

The White House confirmed that US President Biden’s intention, from his conversation with the Ukrainian president, on Thursday, is to provide support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
“The United States provided $400 million in security assistance to Ukraine this year,” Psaki said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a tweet via Twitter that his US counterpart, Joe Biden, briefed him, in a phone call, on the content of his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky added that he discussed with Biden the available ways to resolve the conflict in Donbass, and stated that the call, which lasted for an hour and a half, also dealt with internal reforms in Ukraine.
