The department noted that in the total population, the epidemic thresholds for the incidence of influenza and ARVI were exceeded in 57 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
“The incidence of influenza and ARVI is mainly due to the circulation of respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology, while there is an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses in the overall structure of positive findings of respiratory viruses,” Rospotrebnadzor reported.
In addition, the excess of the weekly thresholds for the incidence of influenza and ARVI is observed mainly among the adult population, as well as children in the age group of 7-14 years.
A day earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that questions about vaccinations have become the most popular on the hotline for the prevention of influenza.
In the period from 4 to 15 October, specialists conducted more than 68 thousand consultations. Most often, Russians were interested in contraindications, preparation, and also points of influenza vaccination.
On October 27, an immunologist, specialist in especially dangerous infections Vladislav Zhemchugov told Izvestia about the rules for the joint administration of vaccines against coronavirus and influenza. According to him, these vaccine preparations need to be injected with different syringes and in different parts of the body.
Earlier that day, the Russian Ministry of Health approved the simultaneous use of the Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine and the influenza vaccine. Corresponding changes were made to the instructions for the drug.
On October 4, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko noted that a busy flu season is expected in Russia, including due to the spread of coronavirus infection in the country. On September 30, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced that there is a seasonal increase in cases of SARS and influenza in the country.
