The European Union may fine the Russian “Gazprom” due to the rise in gas prices. Polish expert Wojciech Jakubik made such an opportunity on the air of Radio Maryja, he is quoted by RIA News…
Also, the European Commission (EC), he said, can offer a number of solutions to protect the EU from abuse.
“Energy prices are set in a largely artificial way. This is the turning of the valve, so to speak, by Russia, by Gazprom, ”he said.
The specialist added that earlier the EC had already fined Google and Facebook, while treating Gazprom with leniency.
Since the beginning of the year, gas prices in Europe have more than quadrupled. On October 6, the cost of fuel exceeded $ 1,900 per thousand cubic meters, but on October 7, gas prices fell below $ 1,000 per thousand cubic meters.
On September 10, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, announced the completion of the construction of Nord Stream 2. The gas pipeline’s capacity will be 55 billion cubic meters per year. Two lines of the object, each 1234 kilometers long, will run from Russia to Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Before commissioning, the gas pipeline is to undergo certification. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov admitted that the procedure will take several months and will be completed in early 2022.
