Morelia, Michoacan.– All the spas public and private will be supervisedwith the sole objective of ensuring that the waters of the pools do not represent a danger for bathers who go out to enjoy the Summer Vacation in Michoacan.
Operations to prevent health risks in swimming pools will be in charge of the Secretary of Health of Michoacán (SSM), through its Jurisdictional Coordination for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COJUPRIS), who They are already carrying out operations to verify that the state’s swimming pools and spas are suitable for human recreation.
Prior to the summer vacations, the staff of the COJUPRIS of the eight health jurisdictions, they will sample more than 105 pools and spas, including those of hotels, sports clubs and swimming schools, so that in case of detecting any anomaly in the water of the swimming pools, these can be corrected before the holiday period in July.
With these preventive actions, health risks are avoided in the user population, since for this the health authority has a program of “Bacteriological Quality in Swimming Pool Water”which is intended protect the population user of diseases associated with water contamination, such as conjunctivitis, dermatitis and gastrointestinal diseases.
During the sampling, the COJUPRIS staff of Uruapan, already suspended a pool, after the results taken in the water were out of the norm. This pool must empty the water, wash and carve the walls, to later disinfect it and fill it again; Only then will it be allowed to open it, to avoid health risks.
