Iltalehti: Disclosure of state secrets in counterintelligence work is being investigated in Finland
Finnish police are investigating the alleged disclosure of state secrets during the work of the counterintelligence department of the Finnish Security Police (SUPO) with Russian informants. About it reports Iltalehti edition.
“Authorities are investigating SUPO’s activities related to Russian informants. The head of counterintelligence, Pertti Haaksluoto, has been removed from his post,” the publication states.
According to the publication, Finnish police are investigating a data leak from a computer used by the head of counterintelligence, which allegedly led to the disclosure of confidential information and state secrets to third parties.
According to police, the criminal investigation also concerns the intelligence activities of the Finnish Defense Forces.
Earlier, the head of the Finnish Ministry of Defense, Antti Häkkänen, said that Finland could open checkpoints on the border with Russia when adopting a law on refugees.
