Digital Foundry analyzed Immortals of Aveum after the addition of FSR 3which effectively multiplies the performance of the game by generating additional frames compared to the original ones, resulting in a frame rate that can even reach 120 fps.
Powered by the powerful Unreal Engine 5, the magical shooter from Ascendant Studios presented problematic performance on PS5 and Xbox Seriesunable to maintain a constant 60 frames per second despite a significantly lower native resolution than the output.
Well, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution manages to solve the problem with the same visual quality, increasing fluidity without excessively impacting latencywhich grows inevitably, but as part of an intervention that requires support from the VRR in order to be appreciated.
Is this the future?
Judging by how effective this first implementation of FSR 3 technology on console has proven to be, there is no doubt that Frame Generation represents the way forwarddespite all the limitations that this type of solution still highlights, see the need for a 120 Hz screen.
In any case, Digital Foundry points out, using this solution as part of a less frenetic experience could have produced even better results, but the shooter from Ascendant Studios confirms itself as an excellent title and is currently available both in the PlayStation Plus catalog (for those who have redeemed it) and in the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
