Ice Hockey World Championships|The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) ranked the favorites in the World Cup and teased Leijon.
International The ice hockey association IIHF scrutinized the performances of different countries at the end of the group stage of the World Cup.
In its listing, the IIHF ranked the teams and commented on their performances in a humorous way. Finland, which underperformed in its initial group, was naturally the target of a relegation.
At the top of the list was Sweden, which won the B group sovereignly. In their case, the IIHF referred to the quarterfinals and the Sweden-Finland match. The message was: “Moomins are for destruction”.
The International Ice Hockey Federation seems to be expecting Tre Kronor, who is winged by NHL stars, to take a crushing victory over Leijon.
The IIHF also teased the Lions’ captain Mikael Granlundia.
“Granny? How would it be in extra time?”
It may be pointless to dream about airwaves, as Granlund may be suspended for the quarterfinals. He beat Switzerland Andrea Glauser to the head with a cross stick, and received a shower command.
The next places on the list were Canada and the United States, before the Czech Republic, the host country of the Games. Leijonat was eighth in the list, i.e. the last of the teams that made it to the next round.
