Columbus and Colorado meet twice in Tampere.
NHL season gets a different color to the season that started in the middle, when the Colorado Avalanche and the Columbus Blue Jackets meet in Finland this week.
Avalanche and Blue Jackets will play two matches in Tampere at the Nokia Arena on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 November.
Both teams left in good time – and published relevant material on social media.
– We are leaving for Finland today. We expect to be in Helsinki at three o’clock in the morning Columbus time. Dave Martzold tweeted.
According to Martzold’s estimate, the plane would arrive after nine in the morning Finnish time, but the Sports + Aviation account, which follows the air travel of sports clubs, says that the Blue Jackets will land in Helsinki at 11:08.
Columbus’ flight to Finland left New York from Newark, where the club left after a heavy 1-7 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
About an hour later, Avalanche also tweeted that they were leaving for Finland.
“Finland, here I come!”
Avalanche also lost their match before the trip to Tampere. It played against the New York Islanders on Saturday and lost 4–5.
Colorado star pack Cale Makar sent greetings to the fans before the game.
“I am excited to get to experience Finland and the culture there. I’ve never been anywhere in Europe or anywhere else abroad, so I’m excited,” Makar said in the video.
