Aleksander Barkov achieved a performance that has not been seen in 14 years.
Florida The Panthers defeated the Boston Bruins on their home ice in the second round of the NHL playoffs with a score of 6–1 and evened the wins in the series to 1–1.
With its crushing victory, Florida gave the same measure back to Boston, who won the first game of the series 5–1.
Florida’s Finnish skipper Alexander Barkov recorded powers 2+2. Barkov scored his team’s second and fifth goals, and assisted on goals four and six.
Plus-minus showed +2 for Barkov after the game. In addition, he won more than 70 percent of his starts and even had nine tackles.
Big Head Hockey account told in X, that it was the first game with at least four points and nine tackles in the playoffs since spring 2010 and Dustin Byfuglien.
“He is the perfect man to captain the Florida Panthers,” praised the head coach Paul Maurice after the game.
Barkov has already managed to score four goals in this spring’s playoffs, in addition to which he has a total of six assists.
Other Finns from Florida were able to get to work Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell. Luostarinen scored his team’s 4–1 goal from Barkov’s handsome foreplay, while Lundell was passing by Gustav Forsling 3-1 hit.
