Four people were injured; heavy rains in the capital of São Paulo cause flooding and falling trees
Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo, was closed to the public after the heavy rains and winds that hit the capital of São Paulo on Monday (8.Jan.2024) caused part of a metallic structure that makes up the marquee of the place collapsed. “The weather event caused impacts on infrastructure and knocked down trees in the park. The dealership's team of firefighters and doctors and the Fire Department promptly helped the 4 people who were injured and were taken to medical care at Albert Einstein Hospital, in Morumbi”, wrote Urbia, the concessionaire that manages the space, in the Instagram. The company did not say when the park will reopen.
The collapse of the Marquise and the fall of trees in Ibirapuera Park show that the privatization of space is yet another cursed legacy of the toucans and their satellites.
And there is no point in blaming the rain, this is the result of the incompetence and irresponsibility of these “managers”. pic.twitter.com/u6uyaPzos4
