The right-wing leader added that the Minister of Health, Marcelo Quiroga, will announce, on January 5, the way his country will manage the “Covid-19” vaccination campaign for those aged five to 11 years, which was approved by the authorities this December.
“Children are not at risk of death to justify being vaccinated against the emerging coronavirus,” Bolsonaro told reporters.
There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the vaccination of children from Covid-19 in Brazil, as Bolsonaro supporters strongly oppose it, although the vast majority of Brazilians support vaccination.
“I spoke with Quiroga and he will announce on the fifth (January) how children will be vaccinated against Covid-19… I want to assure that my daughter will not get a vaccine,” the Brazilian president added.
A report by a government advisory committee stated that “Covid-19” caused the death of 301 children in the age group from five to 11 years in Brazil.
Meanwhile, Bolsonaro refuses to get a COVID-19 vaccine and questions the vaccines’ safety and efficacy.
