Today, Impagnatiello had the opportunity to answer the prosecutor’s questions and tell his truth. His family members chose not to be present. The barman entered the dock a few minutes ago and in reply he said:

Impagnatiello instead, to explain what he did to Giulia that evening of May 27, said:
On the evening of May 27th I put an end to Giulia Tramontano’s life and hid her body. The person I was at that stage is not the person I am now. Today I am here to tell the truest of truths, strengthened by the fact that today I am a clear and aware person, this process has changed me a lot.
Furthermore, in answering the prosecutor’s questions in the courtroom, the accused also made a point of specifying what his relationship was with the other girl. He said:
A. was aware like my colleagues that my relationship with Giulia was ongoing. On Feb 23 I told her the relationship was breaking up. I told her about the trip that I was leaving with friends. I also told her that I was not the father of that child. I said that the father was a boy unknown to me, perhaps from Naples. I told her I wanted to stay close to her through her pregnancy.
In the minutes in which Impagnatiello is speaking, Giulia’s mother in the courtroom stares at and hugs the photo of her daughter. To explain how the two women met, the 30-year-old said:
Giulia suggests that the three of us meet at work, at the Armani cafĂ©. I asked him not to meet there but the next day outside at work, because it was an environment in which I had responsibilities, I cared about the image, the esteem that my colleagues had for me. It was the humiliation that would also cause my working life to collapse: seeing myself humiliated and destroyed I just couldn’t accept it. I continued this stream of lies. I kept carrying on this double and this fake reality in my head. I faked the DNA test.
