Hyundai could also soon enter the electric pick-up market. This is demonstrated by the fact that towards the end of last year the Korean car manufacturer filed a patent application which falls within the categories of “cars”, “electric cars” and “car accessories and parts” with the name Ioniq T10: Carscoops speculates that this could be the brand's next 100% electric pickup. The deposit took place in Australiabut this does not mean that the Australian market will be the main market for the new vehicle: in fact, the debut of the new vehicle in North America also seems certain, but what its fate will be in Europe is yet to be understood.
Electric pickup coming soon?
The presence of the word “Ioniq” in the trademark application leaves no doubt: it will be a vehicle full electric. The fact that there is also the wording “T10” to complete the name suggests that this new generation EV will be placed in the range at the top of the offer Hyundai's electric car, at least in terms of size, will certainly be above the Ioniq 7.
First rumors
What do we know about this new electric vehicle? Obviously little or nothing, we are still in the field of hypotheses. The latest rumors suggest that its design will be amazing at least as much as that of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, models with which it will presumably also share part of its mechanical components, including the electric motors and the battery pack. Speaking of this last aspect: the debut should take place with two engines that will guarantee the four-wheel drivebut it will also be possible to opt for a version with a single engine and rear-wheel drive.
From T10 to T7
But be careful, because the new Ioniq T10 may not be the only electric pick-up that Hyundai has in mind to introduce: in fact, it seems that the Korean brand has also submitted another separate patent application for the name Ioniq T7, which suggests that it could be a vehicle much smaller than the Ioniq T10 and perhaps similar in size to the Santa Cruz or slightly larger. We talk about the 2025 or 2026 at the latest as a plausible date to witness the reveal of these two new full electric pick-ups.
