Earlier this month, BMW has announced ambitious plans to introduce a hydrogen vehicle by 2028, supported by collaboration with Toyota. However, before this happens, Hyundai is ready to launch the second generation of the SUV Nexoa vehicle that promises to bring hydrogen into the mainstream market.
Innovative design
The new Nexo stands out for a design that abandons soft curves in favor of straighter and more decisive lines. This stylistic choice not only gives a modern look, but also improves the practicality of the SUV. The rear part instead features a slightly more vertical tail, which makes the vehicle more functional: the similarities with the new Santa Fe are evident, especially in the A-pillars, but the shorter wheelbase and the characteristic “kick” in the belt line make it easily recognizable.
The new Hyundai Nexo
With the arrival of 2026, the prototype’s heavy disguise will be removed, revealing a front end with a full width light bar. The rear lights, judging from their current position, on the contrary seem to indicate a tail design that it differs from previous sketches, thus suggesting a significant evolution in the final look.
Power and Performance
While Hyundai has yet to reveal details about the powertrain, the new Nexo is expected to be more powerful and have a greater range than the current model, which delivers around 163 hp of total power and 395 Nm of maximum torque, with an EPA range of 611 km: according to the latest rumors, the new generation of the model could reach a range of over 800 km.
