A truly special auction…
SBX Cars, global dreamcars auction platform – operated by Supercar Blondie – has put up for online auction one of the seven development vehicles used by Hyperiona brand based in California to Orange Countythat is, one of the cars that then led to the definitive model, the cost of which, when it goes into production, will be around 3 million dollars.
What is missing…?
What's the news? That in presenting the model, the auction house states verbatim that the car “is equipped with electric propulsion and it can be driven like a show car”, which shows that it does not have a hydrogen fuel cell engine which will push the production version, and neither the four electric motors that each wheel should have, contributing to the monstrous overall power of 2,000 HP.
A museum piece
And so? Therefore the auction could close with a few pennies (always in relation to the final value of the car) and whoever wins the prototype will be sure of taking home a very rare Hyperion XP-1, a real museum piece of which the the parent company plans to make only 300 examples. Sure, it will be a wonderful object but without a soul: but you can't want everything from life.
Characteristics of the Hyperion XP-1
When in 2020 the Hyperion XP-1 was presented, the values with which the projects accredited it spoke of a power greater than 2,000 HP capable of generating a sprint from 0-100 in just 2.2 seconds, all with 1,500 km of autonomy.
