Speaking after talks in Budapest with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he noted that the countries had decided to cooperate in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Orban hopes not only for an influx of additional investment from China, but also for the use of advanced Chinese technologies.
As the head of government clarified, Hungary has been developing nuclear energy for more than 50 years. “In the next decades, it will provide from 60 to 70 percent of all electricity generated in the country,” the politician emphasized.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, following negotiations with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjártó, said that China had found an ally in the European Union (EU), counting on Hungary’s chairmanship in the organization.
