At least one person was killed and more than 200 others were evacuated due to floods that damaged a main road and bridges in Armenia, authorities announced Sunday.
The Ministry of Interior stated that one person was killed and another was missing, while 232 people left the Lori region in northern Armenia due to floods caused by heavy rains.
The ministry indicated that many bridges and parts of the main highway linking this mountainous country with Georgia were damaged due to the flood of the Debed River.
The National Railway Company announced the cancellation of all trains heading to Georgia due to a landslide on the tracks.
About 40,000 people are affected by floods every year in Armenia.
