During Midsummer 2019, two men in Finland started a ferocious criminal pipeline, which eventually led to dozens of convictions.

Police had received an alert for Somero, where a burglar was suspected of breaking into a motorhome. We lived the week after Midsummer, and a man in his thirties and his companion were on the move. It was early Tuesday morning.
When police crawled to the scene, the burglar abandoned the caravan he had collected and caught away. According to the constable, the man jumped on the back of the scooter and crashed towards the police. His eyes gleamed and the mouthpiece became foamy.
The man, who had turned from a burglar to a drunk driver, fled, but did not get far. Police caught the scooter on the bike path. After the arrest, the man fell asleep.
Southwest Finland the district court sentenced the man in his thirties to one year and one month in prison on Wednesday. He was convicted of a total of 44 crimes. The man’s accomplice, a man in his forties, was convicted of as many as 48 crimes. The accomplice was sentenced to exactly one year. Neither of the men barely denied the charges against them.
However, in one payment instrument fraud, a man in his thirties wanted to correct the prosecutor’s allegations. According to him, the use of a credit card stolen from an association of the unemployed was not planned in advance.
The men were engaged in dozens of petty crimes, mainly in the Salo area for more than a year. In many cases, they were caught almost immediately. The first acts are scheduled for December 2018 and the last for spring 2020.
The fiercest phase of the crime cycle hit this interval, around the midsummer of 2019. The court papers show that in the week after Midsummer, the duo began a wild rut. At that time, the period of more than two weeks was only three days, during which they were not caught for any crimes.
The men engaged in, among other things, house and car burglaries, payment instrument fraud and minor drug offenses. Based on the charges, they were not very selective. Almost everyone was worth the thieves. One conviction came from stolen windbreakers and leggings. They even took their slippers with them from the Salo hotel – after first checking into the hotel under the wrong names.
The criminal proceeds of individual acts often remained relatively small. As a whole, however, the damages for both men will rise to more than ten thousand euros. The judgment of the district court is not yet final.
