Keravan exceptional elements will be used as noise barriers in the future housing fair area, as the area will be protected by sea containers and a greenhouse. Noise barriers come between the housing fair area and Lahdenväylä.
HS said last Januarythat in Salin and herbs growing in Lapinjärvi in Eastern Uusimaa Robert Jordasin Robbes Lilla Trädgård is building a tall greenhouse along Lahdenväylä. At the same time, the building would act as a noise barrier in the housing fair area.
Now the noise barrier plans have been completed as the city of Kerava tells us about the south of the greenhouse. There, the noise barrier is made from used sea containers. Sea containers can be stacked on top of each other and locked at their corners.
Between the containers there will be stone baskets and to the south of the containers Maavalli.
The height of the noise barrier is about 5.5 meters from the surface of Lahdenväylä.
“The noise barrier is made about a kilometer south of the greenhouse to the underpass of Porvoontie. Later, it is planned to make the containers a noise barrier to the north of the greenhouse as well, ”Kerava’s infrastructure manager Rainer Siren says.
Greenhouse The cost estimate for the noise barrier to the south is approximately EUR 4.2 million.
“Using sea containers as a noise barrier significantly reduces costs. It is not known that sea containers have been used elsewhere in Finland as a noise barrier, ”says Sirén.
Keravan The housing fair will be held in 2024. The housing fair area will be built around the Kerava manor, on the north side of the manor next to Lahdenväylä.
Construction work on the noise barriers will begin in the autumn of next year and is scheduled to be completed before the housing fair begins.
Construction work on the greenhouse will begin as soon as the project has been granted a building permit.
“We expect the building permit to be granted before the turn of the year. At that time, construction work would begin next spring, and the greenhouse would be completed in December 2022 or January 2023, ”says Robert Jordas of Robbes Lilla Trädgård.
