A recent study revealed the period during which a Corona virus patient continues to be contagious to others, in moderate cases.
According to the results of the study conducted by “Imperial College” in London, most people with “Covid 19” can transmit infection to others for a period ranging between 5 and 7 days since the onset of symptoms on them, according to Sky News.
Research found that two-thirds of participants remain infectious 5 days after the onset of symptoms, and a quarter after 7 days, according to the results highlighted by the British “Sky News” network.
The new study comes after other research concluded that most people with the “Omicron” mutant did not even realize that they were corona patients.
“There is no longer a legal requirement for self-isolation if the result of the corona test is positive,” said study co-author Siran Haki, from the National Heart and Lung Institute of Imperial College. in BritainBut most patients should be isolated until they are no longer infectious.”
And the British authorities advise Corona patients to “try to stay at home and avoid contact with others for 5 days”, but self-isolation is no longer mandatory.
“However, it is not clear how to exit from self-isolation safely,” Hacky added.
And she continued, “Our study is the first to assess how long the possibility of transmission lasts using realistic evidence. Our results can therefore provide guidance on how to safely end self-isolation.”
And the researcher explained: “If the result of the corona test is positive or you develop symptoms after contact with an infected person, you should try to stay at home and reduce contact with others.”
