Jesús María Tarriba, husband of Claudia Sheinbaum, is a renowned expert in financial risks with an outstanding career in both Spain and Mexico. Currently, Tarriba works as a financial risk specialist at the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), where he has been specialty leader for the Risk Analysis Management of the Financial System since 2017. His main role at Banxico includes the development of valuation models and measurement of financial risks.

Claudia Sheinbaum and Jesús María Tarriba met while studying Physics at UNAM. They were dating during their undergrad, but went their separate ways after graduating. Decades later, in 2016, they met again thanks to Facebook, when Sheinbaum was mayor of Tlalpan and Tarriba worked at Banco Santander in Spain. This reunion revived their relationship and culminated in marriage in November 2023.
