Actor André Silva, who appears in Don’t Look Up, the new film by director Adam McKay with Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, told how he got to participate in the American Netflix film and explained what this step meant in his career as Peruvian actor. In addition, it revealed some unpublished information about one more sequence that did not appear on screen.
Although recently both he and his partner Ramón García received discouraging comments on social networks, the truth is that Silva has been on everyone’s lips for his cameo in the large-scale film.

André, known for his roles on local television, explained in an interview with El Comercio that his participation was due to a call for a role abroad announced by Tondero, the Peruvian producer by which he is represented.
At first, according to the actor, he had no idea what it was about, only that it was an important project. “I made the decision to do it without knowing what was coming”, he recounted.
“Days passed, they gave me the information, I knew what it was about and I was very excited”Silva explained about the moment he found out he was going to act in the Netflix movie Don’t look up.

The scene on the beach was not the only one
According to the popular Peruvian actor, the scene in which he appears in Playa Roja, within the Paracas National Reserve, was recorded in April 2021.
However, the that appears in the final edition of the film was not the only. Silva said that a second sequence was also recorded in which he entered a bowling alley and, when he saw what was happening, he left the place in fear.
A big step in your career
Despite being a brief cameo, André Silva knows that participating in a film featuring Oscar-winning Hollywood actors is an achievement in his career as an actor.
