Since when Carlos Sainz he joined Ferrari and his approach to the Maranello cause was immediately understood. A tireless worker, the Spaniard has established his residence near the Prancing Horse headquarters, and has devoted a large part of the 2020-21 winter preparation to familiarizing himself with the people and places of the factory. And now, after the first significant results in Formula 1, he has also decided to change his personal car, obviously choosing it from the Ferrari list.
Sainz would have to get rid of his Volkswagen Golf, his parents’ birthday present upon coming of age, to buy one Ferrari 812 Competizione, most likely in version Open. The car will be customized and tailor-made for him, with the ‘fixed’ base of the 800 HP V12 engine. In a video that appeared on Instagram, Sainz said that the most difficult choice, however, concerns the interior: the Spaniard is undecided whether to arrive at a more elegant version, like a Smooth Operator, or a sportier, caliente version. There should be the number “55” forged all over the cabin, certainly on the floor mats. But still little else is known about the car, with Sainz being buttoned up and mysterious.
In some frames, however, possible clues appeared. As can be seen in the photo gallery, a red color scheme has appeared paired with two white stripes, within which there is space for an additional line in blue. This is the same livery as another car pictured above: the inspiration is clearly from 365 GTB / 4. There are, among other things, golden circles. In another moment of the video posted on social networks, you can see the interiors, which look like those of the 812 Competizione. Later Sainz talks about a one-year wait, another detail that suggests the open variant of the car.
The delivery of the car, as well as the wait for it, will presumably turn into another social event dedicated to Sainz and his love, which has just begun, with Ferrari.
