The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) arrested Emmanuel Irving “N”worker of the company involved in the accident where a family was traveling aboard a hot air balloon in Teotihuacán until it started to catch fire and some had to jump into the void.
The incident, which occurred on April 1, 2023, saw the collapse and subsequent fire of one of the balloons while flying over the majestic area of the pyramids, claiming the life of a couple and leaving injured and orphaned his minor daughter, identified as Regina.
What did Emmanuel Irving “N” do?
Irving, whose main function was to attract potential clients and take them to the take-off point on San Francisco Avenue in the municipality of Teotihuacán, was arrested in the same town and transferred to the Tecámac Justice Center for a forensic medical evaluation.
Subsequently, He was taken to the Otumba Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Centerwhere he awaits the legal process that will determine his responsibility in the charges of homicide and injuries by commission by omission as a possible fraud.
Investigations revealed that Irving had allegedly presented himself as the owner of the hot air balloon company, although he served as an employee.
On the fateful day of the event, the clients boarded the aircraft operated by Víctor “N”, who, after approximately 45 minutes of flight, attempted to land, triggering the accident that ended in injuries to a young woman and the death of both of her parents.
This arrest marks a milestone in the search for justice for the victims and their families, who have waited almost a year to see significant progress in the case. l
