Here comes the new generation of the new Honda HR-V Full Hybrid e: HEV with hybrid powertrain with two engines. This is the latest model of the electrified range and: HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle). The new HR-V compared to the past it is totally new thanks to a revolutionized, more modern and sporty exterior design.
Honda has therefore designed a premium SUV with compact dimensions, thanks to the “Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum “(M / M)which is based on the concept that design and technology pursue the same goal of meeting the needs of drivers and passengers.
New Honda HR-V 2022, exterior features
Analyzing out the new Honda HR-V hybrid SUV we notice the new compact forms of a coupe match the appearance of a SUV. The dimensions confirm this first impression: the height above the ground has increased by 10 mmwhile the roofline of 20 mm. In addition, the beautiful 18 ″ wheels enhance the sporty aspect we were talking about earlier.
In the front i optical groups they are one with the matching upper grille, bodywork and lower grille. The whole gives us one more muscular style.
In the rear view, the designers worked trying to achieve a synthesis between practicality and aesthetics, with the new tailgatewhich integrates the handle inside the three-dimensional panel.
Honda designers have also worked hard on aerodynamics, with effective solutions that have not compromised the style of the car. For example the air vent on the front bumper, together with the elegant shape of the rear light clusters, reduces turbulence also thanks to the spoiler on the tailgate.
New Honda HR-V Hybrid, cockpit and trunk, as it is inside
The cockpit of the new Honda HR-V has also been revolutionized, creating an environment large and bright. The interiors were therefore designed with the aim of amplifying the spaces and increasing the brightness. In this regard, an unpublished work has been proposed air diffusion systemwhich thanks to its a L shape placed on the sides of the dashboard, manages to eliminate the annoying problem of direct air jet on passengers. The airflow now flows along the side windows and from the windshield up to the roof.
In the design of the passenger compartment the driveability of the car was also improved, thanks to a new driving position raised by 10 mm and a new window design. Finally, the side mirrors were lowered to improve visibility when cornering.
The sessions are also of new generation And they replace the previous ones equipped with a spring structure. The new seats are therefore now able to stabilize the body, with the dual benefit of limiting fatigue on longer journeys and increasing comfort in daily use. The driver also benefits from controls such as those of the car and the climate better positioned, that is as close as possible to the driver’s field of vision. Then in the central position we find a small front pocket equipped with USB charging both in the front and in the back. There is also a compartment for the wireless charging.
Despite the compact forms the space has increased, with the new HR-V offering 35 mm of additional space for game and shoulders. In addition, the central position of the fuel tank and the components of the hybrid transmission offer the seats an angle of two degrees more.
And for those who need a lot of space for the boot, you can count on the features of the Honda Magic Seatswhich can be folded down or raised according to needs.
About the trunk behind you can load bulky items such as two mountain bikes upright (without the front wheel).
In addition, the automatic closing allows you to open and close the tailgate without the use of hands, since the Smart Key allows the car to detect when the key is moving away from it, so as to be able to independently initiate the closing of the tailgate.
The full hybrid e: HEV of the HR-V, features
According to the Honda M / M principle we told you about at the beginning, the hybrid platform of the HR-V SUV has been rethought, with the batteries which are positioned under the luggage compartment and no longer under the car floor.
Honda’s e: HEV hybrid technology provides two compact electric motorscombined with a 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine. The combination of the three units guarantees a total power of 96 kW (131 PS) and a maximum torque of 253 Nm at 4,500 rpm
The hybrid system e: HEV provides three driving modes automatically interchangeable according to driving needs. To maximize efficiency, when more torque is needed, the HR-V turns off the electric mode and automatically switches to hybrid mode. At constant and higher speeds, on the other hand, only the petrol engine.
To maximize performance and fuel consumption, the driver can choose between different driving modes: Sport, Normal and Eco. A further mode B it can be selected by the gearbox, to increase the incidence of regenerative brakingas if the car were 100% electric. The level of energy regeneration and the deceleration force can be regulated based on the preferences of those who are driving the new HR-V, using the special selector located behind the steering wheel.
Honda HR-V Hybrid, infotainment
L’infotainment of the new Honda HR-V Hybrid on display from 9 ″ it too has evolved. The dashboard was designed to minimize driver distractions, with simplified menus. Now you can easily get through from one app to another. The infotainment also provides detailed information on assisted driving and: HEV directly from the 7 “TFT display.
The infotainment also allows you to intuitively use your smartphones, go Apple CarPlay (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or cable) e Android Auto (cable only). The apps and functions are also constantly updated thanks to OTA updates (over-the-air).
Honda Sensing and ADAS HR-V, how it works
As for the endowment of ADAS systems driving aid, the new HR-V is equipped for the first time with the package Honda Sensing. This includes the new monocular front camera high-definition and high-speed image processing chips that replace the functions of the camera / radar sensor set. In addition, the Honda Sensing also works well in the night hours and integrates ADAS Pedestrian Impact Reduction Steering and the impact reduction braking (CMBS)now able to detect vehicles crossing the road, including bicycles and motorcycles.
The new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) integrates the low speed distance hold function: the steering angle and lateral G force are now evaluated, together with the improved camera images, to anticipate acceleration during maneuvering. ACC also offers the functions Low-Speed and Brake Control to maintain a constant speed under steep descent conditions.
The new HR-V is equipped with the function Blind Spot Information. The system uses radar technology to automatically detect i vehicles in the blind spot of the driver, warning him with a symbol in the side mirror. The detection distance has passed from 3 to 25 mt to increase the confidence and safety of the driver.
Even the Cross Traffic Monitorthe oncoming traffic monitoring system has been improved thanks to rear radar sensors which, when reversing, warn the driver of possible approaching vehicles from the right or left, with audio and visual signals.
There Hill Descent Control functionavailable in preview on the version of HR-V for Europe, is already activated for only 3 km / h. This technology gives you more control over slippery surfaces and steep to increase safety in a range of critical conditions, from garage exit ramps to snow-covered mountain roads.
