A convincing shakedown
Honda is going through a very difficult moment in terms of results in MotoGP, a technical crisis 'child' of wrong assessments and the fact that for years Marc Marquez hid the shortcomings of the RC213V with his talent. The Japanese giant, however, undoubtedly has the power and capabilities to get out of this tunnel and judging by Johann Zarco's statements in Japan they seem to have taken the right path to reverse the negative trend.
“Already in Valencia the 2024 prototype lapped seven tenths faster than the 2023 bike – explained Zarco as reported by the English newspaper crash.net – and this fact further increased the admiration I already had towards Marc Marquez for what he managed to express last year with that bike. Here in Sepang, then, we still have a new bike to try.”
Honda has indeed brought it to Malaysia two versions of the RC213V 2024 from which the pilots of the Golden Wing company will be able to choose: “Obviously we will choose the one with the best lap time”, added Zarco who has already certainly found a positive aspect of being a Honda rider again. “With the Ducati I struggled to stop the bike when braking – his analysis – with the Honda, however, I feel much more in control and I'm happy.”
