A new Batmobile will hit theaters in March, with Robert Pattinson putting on the hero’s cowl. Meanwhile, one of the classic examples ever built won an electric version! Hanoi-educated 23-year-old architect Nguyen dac Chung is displaying a fully functional replica of the Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s trilogy in a gallery in Vietnam. Dubbed the Tumbler, of the six models already made for TV and cinema, it is the most similar to a military vehicle and would have cost only US$ 23,000 to build – the one in the movie, US$ 1 million. For the screens, seven copies were made, some without an engine, just for semi-destruction. Chung’s, who owns a hero costume company, or Cosplay, took two years to complete. “Growing up, he was a Batman fan and always wanted to build a Batmobile. While Cosplay business often focuses on clothing and accessories, he wanted to take things to a stupid level,” Chung said. In addition to the ecological solution, the builder added an extra passenger seat and the possibility of remote control. And if anyone wants it, he’ll build another one, for $35,000, the same price as an Audi A3 Sedan, though harder to park.
