This was Uruguay's victory in the first World Cup.
The final of the first World Cup was played on July 30, 1930 at the Centenario stadium in Montevideo. It was a repeat of the Olympic final played two years earlier between the oldest rivals in South American soccer and absolute masters of world soccer at that time, Uruguay and Argentina.
