Hiker dies after falling from 30 meters high in La Huasteca park in Nuevo León

A young man hiker died after falling from a height of approximately 30 meters at Pico Mesa de Morteros/Horcones in the La Huasteca Ecological Parkin the municipality of Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.

The unfortunate accident was reported around 12:49 p.m. yesterday Sunday, so rescue teams were mobilized to the scene.

The young man who died was identified as Luis Arturo R.27 years old, who was accompanied by Natalia Lorena G., 23 years old, who witnessed the accident.

When the incident was reported, rescue elements and paramedics went to the site and upon locating the hiker and checking his vital signs, they confirmed that he had already lost his life.

According to reports, at 3:30 p.m. they lowered the person with the support of rope equipment.

Municipal and state Civil Protection elements, GREM, Grupo Jaguares and volunteers, Municipal Police, ministerial agents, Semefo and expert services personnel attended the scene, who were in charge of the corresponding tasks.
