With the closure of Google Stadianow officially scheduled for January 18, 2023, the company has also permanently pulled the plug on its digital Store, leaving several titles and developers without a reference platform.
But there is an element that few have taken into consideration, namely which are the video games present exclusively on Google Stadia that after the closure could disappear permanently and be no longer available for purchase for any player.
Here is the list compiled by Kotaku. It is about:
- Hello Engineer
- PixelJunk Raiders
- Outcasters
- Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle
- Gylt
If it’s possible that some of these titles tell you little, it’s because PixelPunk Raiders was a rather negatively reviewed roguelike, while Outcasters a brilliant competitive video game that nevertheless never found success with the public. In contrast, Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle was an interesting battle-royale twist tied to the historic original formula.
Different speech for Hello Engineer, set in the same universe as the very famous Hello Neighbor, but above all for Gylt, the first exclusive of Google Stadia and considered by many to be the best original work to see light on the Google platform. The fate of these works is still uncertain, but it is possible that before the final closure they may find refuge on other platforms, perhaps on PC or even on Xbox Game Pass. The preservation of video games, moreover, is always important.
