City|Helsinki’s salary problems
The Helsinki City Council will hold an extra question hour due to salary problems.
Helsinki politicians will hold an extra question hour over the city’s pay row on Wednesday.
Officials answer politicians’ questions. The question hour will be organized, because many city councilors have received questions and inquiries from residents about the unclear situation, the chairman of the council Fatim Diarra (green) tells.
The city of Helsinki’s salary problems have continued since April, and they are estimated to continue until the end of the year.

An hour is set aside at the beginning of the council meeting to discuss salary problems.
“This has already been discussed in the city council, but I thought that the council should be able to discuss it [aiheesta]Diarra says.
“As the chairman of the council, my role is to make sure that the members of the council have the opportunity to get this information. Especially when not all groups are in the city council.”
Diarrhea says that the councilors have received many questions on the subject. He himself has received questions, above all, about how this can be possible and when the situation will be resolved.
“Questions keep coming. It’s good that information has been improved, but it was so quiet for so long that building trust back now requires a completely different kind of transparency from the city.”
Executive management is asked to attend the city council meeting to answer questions.
“On the chancellery’s side, we will see who has the best and most appropriate information in that situation.”
On Wednesday before the council meeting, a demonstration will be organized in Senatintor, demanding an immediate solution to the salary problems. The demonstration is organized by the Association of Public and Welfare Sectors JHL and the Education Association OAJ.
The Helsinki City Council will meet on Wednesday for its first meeting of the autumn term.
