In chronic kidney disease, the most important thing is an early diagnosis, which can be obtained with simple “blood and urine tests”, costing a few euros, to evaluate the parameters of renal function. If this is done at a certain age, or in the presence of risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes or heart failure, “people’s quality of life can be improved, challenged by a pathology that presents itself subtly and silently” . This was stated by Senator Ignazio Zullo, Member of the 10th Permanent Commission (Social Affairs, Health, Public and Private Work, Social Security) of the Senate to Adnkronos, on the occasion of World Kidney Day which is celebrated on 9 March.
