“Lifestyles are very important, so much so that the World Health Organization lists recommendations on lifestyles that we should follow to reduce the risk of having mild cognitive decline as we age or developing a serious disease such as Alzheimer’s. The main lifestyles are nutrition, such as the Mediterranean diet, and physical activity, as doing daily physical activity improves responses to memory tests and reduces the risk of having cognitive decline or dementia”. These are the words of Sandro Sorbi, past president of Airalzh Onlus, professor of Neurology at the University of Florence and director of Neurology I, Aou Careggi in Florence, during the presentation event of the awareness campaign to invite the population to be more aware of the benefits of a correct lifestyle, and to adopt them also as a prevention for dementia, organized by Airalzh, the Italian Association for Alzheimer Research Onlus, for its tenth anniversary of its foundation.
