“The economic impact of these pathologies is 23 billion euros, of which 4 billion are paid by the NHS, 5 billion are indirect costs and 15 billion are paid by families”. This was stated by Paolo Sciattella, Pharmacoeconomist at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome at the closing of the event promoted by Neopharmed Gentili, ‘Cognitive decline and dementia: how much we know, what we are doing and what impact on society and the National Health Service’, during which the results of the research conducted by ‘Emg Different’ were presented, which investigated the level of knowledge of citizens on cognitive decline and dementia, pathologies that represent a growing social and health emergency.
