The Minister of Health, Mónica García, has reported that she has mobilized to Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies (CCAES) and Carlos III Health Institute in anticipation of public health problems that may arise from the catastrophe generated by DANA, especially in the Valencian Community.

Five coordinated groups
García has also explained that work is being done in five coordinated groups to protect public health: Early detection of diseases, especially infectious, related to the catastrophe; Water quality control and determination of priority parameters in the affected area; Assessment of the need for vaccinations specific against vaccine-preventable diseases; Risks and control measures related to vectors, with support from the State Committee of the Vector Plan and expanded Recommendations on food safety.
