His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, received today the President of the friendly Republic of Mozambique, Felipe Chacinto Nyusi, who is on a working visit to the country that will last for several days.
At the beginning of the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace, His Highness welcomed the President of Mozambique and his accompanying delegation, wishing that his visit would constitute an important boost to relations between the two countries in various fields.
The meeting dealt with various aspects of relations between the UAE and Mozambique and the opportunities available to expand the base of common interests.
In this context, the two sides affirmed their common interest in developing bilateral relations and pushing them forward to serve the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
The meeting also touched on cooperation in the field of environment and confronting climate change, in light of Mozambique’s membership in the “Agricultural Innovation for Climate” initiative led by the United Arab Emirates and the United States and announced last year… in addition to what is represented by the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change “COP 28”, which will be hosted by the UAE next year, is of great importance in this regard.
His Highness and the President of Mozambique exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
For his part, His Excellency Felipe Chacinto Nyusi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm reception, stressing his keenness to continue working with His Highness for further growth and prosperity of bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Lieutenant-General Engineer Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and a number of officials.
