A man has reported being a victim of some extortioners that they threatened of death for supposedly “molesting” a girl he had met on the internet. He came to pay them 80,000 euros Under death threats and as a result of his case, the Civil Guard has dismantled in Valencia a criminal organization made up of twelve people specialized in money laundering obtained through these coercions.
Researchers fighting cybercrime in this province have discovered these criminals in the metropolitan area of Valencia, as the armed institute explains in a note.
The affected complainant told them how he had received death threats towards him and his family through calls and communications via WhatsApp from different phones, from individuals who were supposedly related to that young with whom he had contacted through a website. They demanded different amounts of money from him because they claimed that he bothered.
The extorted person carried out, during the month of December 2023 and January 2024, a multitude of transfers banking, money income in cash and payments of bizum for a total amount of approximately 80,000 euros.
In the analysis of the movements of the receiving accounts, it was observed that the amounts deposited, coming from extortion, were subsequently withdrawn through ATM withdrawals, or used for payments from the associated accounts or cards; and that the majority of the beneficiary owners were located in the same geographical area, the metropolitan area of the capital of Turia.
With all the information collected by a Technological Investigation Team (Edite) of the Civil Guard, the investigators verified that the investigation was related to the same criminal group of bleach.
The overall balance of the operation has resulted in the arrest of twelve people, the investigation of another nine and the intervention of 14 bank accounts and two mobile terminals.
