Family and friends identified the couple of El Paso residents who were electrocuted in the jacuzzi of a resort in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, on June 11.
Jorge “George” Guillén, 43, lost his life at the Sonoran Sea Resort, while his wife, Lizzette Zambrano, 35, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries; She has already been transferred to the United States to receive hospital care.
According to publications on social networks, Jorge worked in life as a custodian in different penitentiary centers in the region and was about to graduate as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician on Friday of this week at the Western Technical College.
“We will do everything we can do to reach as many people as possible and support their families in these difficult times. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his friends, and his wife’s family,” the school posted on Instagram.
Lizzette Zambrano has worked as an elementary teacher in some institutions in El Paso and has a son named Ryan. El Paso County records indicate that Lizzette and Jorge were married on September 11, 2021.
Given Zambrano’s medical expenses and Guillén’s funeral, scheduled for June 28, two friends of the couple have created a GoFundMe page to raise funds.
“Our best friends have suffered a horrible accident. Jorge had a heart of gold and was always there for family and friends. The love they shared was one for centuries. We ask for her help to bring him home and help with her medical expenses,” says the collection organized by Amber Romero and Sylvia Annette Sundermann.
