There Harry Potter television serieswhich will mark the return of one of the best-known sagas in the world, finally has one exit date. A first part of the series should in fact be broadcast in 2026. The information was revealed by himself CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslavduring a call dedicated to taking stock of the profits of the first quarter, held on Tuesday 20 February.
Zaslav also added that he met the author of the book series, JK Rowling in London, a few weeks before this call. They were also present at the meeting Casey Bloys And Channing Dungeyrespectively head of content at HBO and Max. The four would have talked about the future of the series, therefore also about a possible release date. During the call, Zaslav also stated that «There is excitement on both sides for the revival of the franchise. […] We can't wait to share ten more years of Max stories with fans around the world ».
For what concern casting, no information has been released yet or date but Warner Bros. Discovery itself has secured a completely new team of actors and actresses. This also means that former actors will probably not be involved which had instead been part of the Harry Potter film saga.
Even before the actors, however, it will be necessary to build a large team of screenwriters and – above all – choose the right showrunner who can manage the work team. In conversation with reporters from Variety, Channing Dungey discussed the progress the Wizarding World series is making and added that it will be a project lasting at least a decade.
