His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dahra Holding Company, chaired the meeting of the company’s Board of Directors, which was held via remote video communication technology. During the meeting, Al Dahra Holding Company’s work for the past year 2021 was reviewed, and the current year’s 2022 budget was reviewed and approved, in addition to discussing and discussing the company’s directions for growth in the coming years, in addition to a number of topics on the agenda.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the food security file for the UAE is of great importance and a major priority for the sustainability of quality of life and its continuity, as the state has been keen since its establishment to develop innovative visions and strategies in this field and has been interested in working to achieve a food security strategy for its citizens and residents within international standards Approved by international organizations of various names.
His Highness said that Al Dahra Holding Company – 50 percent of which is owned by ADQ Holding Company – believes in the challenges posed by climate change with the continuous decline in the area of arable land and the decreasing water resources available for this, and is keen to keep water and food security at the heart of its strategy. His Highness directed the members of the Board of Directors to give great priority to the requirements of the UAE market and to search for opportunities to enhance food security in the basic food categories, especially since Al Dahra is characterized by a supply chain and investments spread all over the world.
His Highness called for the need to give importance to the global market as well and to ensure that the needs of the company’s customers abroad are met, which is no less important than focusing on the food security of the Emirates, in addition to paying attention to social and environmental responsibility and the most prominent agricultural practices regarding the needs of soil for water, fertilizers and seeds.
His Highness said that Al Dahra Holding Company seeks to be a sustainable partner and supplier of agricultural and food products locally and globally.
