A player of Halo Infinitenickname Loaf Lord, was banned from Forge mode for entering della marijuana in a map. In reality he had done it for reasons of realism, as we will see, but he was still punished. Fortunately, his ban was withdrawn after the intervention of the developers, who understood the situation, but still invited him to follow the rules. Let’s see what happened.
The map is called Juju’s Room and he recreated the Loaf Lord’s bedroom with great fidelity, so much so that he impressed several members of the community. For the sake of verisimilitude, Loaf Lord had inserted some personalized assets, including some marijuana, complete with joints.
When 343 Industries noticed, they removed the map and banned Loaf Lord, setting the ban to end in March 2023.
Adding marijuana to the map is a violation of the rules guidelines dictated by Microsoft to the Xbox community, as readable among the basic principles:
the. Respect the laws
Xbox is available in every country around the world and it’s important that people from all backgrounds feel safe and comfortable on our platform. To do this, we must comply with local laws and remove content or behavior that supports or promotes illegal activity.
It must be said that before banning the forger for all these months, he could at least have been sent a notice, inviting him to modify the map in accordance with the guidelines. On the other hand, the addition of drugs, albeit in an amateur map, risked activating the ESRB (the US video game classification body), making Halo Infinite an M (Mature) game instead of T (Teen).
Be that as it may, the story has a happy ending and Loaf Lord has been readmitted to the Forge, although the game’s Lead Designer, Michael Schorr, took the opportunity to directly remind him of the standards of the Xbox community.
All’s well that ends well, then. The important thing is to remember not to add Maria in Halo Infinite.
