343 Industries would have plans to retire the graphics engine Slipspace Engine for the next chapters of the saga of Halo to make room forUnreal Engine 5 by Epic Games.
The content creator Jeremy Penter recently posted a tweet through his personal Twitter account in which he points out that “many sources” are reporting that “Halo will switch to Unreal.” Although this information has not yet been confirmed by 343 Industries, journalist and insider Jez Corden commented in an interview that, while he cannot corroborate the rumor, he believes it is very likely to be true.
“I can only confirm that many sources say this and it is very clear that it is already decided and definitely Halo will be changed to Unreal. It seems to me that it is time for more changes behind the scenes, besides the people leaving“, reads Penter’s tweet. Apparently, 343 Industries would be interested in changing the graphics engine due to the numerous problems the team had with Halo Infinite, which has suffered several postponements and also significant cuts in content.
I can only confirm that many sources are saying this and very clear that it’s already been decided and Halo is for sure switching to Unreal.
I feel like it’s time for other switches behind the scenes including people leaving and their past problems.Unreal is a great choice. https://t.co/8KxMqREWIk

However, for now it is simply rumor, so we just have to wait and see if the studio will make an official announcement through its channels.
