Nico Hulkenberg risks a three-place penalty for impeding Esteban Ocon in Q2, but this could only be the lesser evil for the team Haas on Saturday in Monte Carlo. Both American cars, in fact, they are at risk of disqualification due to a technical irregularity of the rear wing.
DRS in the sights
According to what was reported in the official press release of the Federation, during the checks at the end of the qualifications it emerged that the upper flap of the rear wing, moving upwards during the activation of the DRS, creates an opening greater than the 85 mm allowedi from the technical regulation (Art. 3.10.10 h).
The two single-seaters, currently qualified in 12th and 15th position (with Hulkenberg, as mentioned, at risk of penalties) could in all probability be excluded from the final qualifying classification and be forced to start from the pit lane.
Further updates coming soon.
